Health and Safety Policy for Ultimate Towbars

1. Policy Statement:

At Ultimate Towbars, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, visitors, and customers. We recognise the importance of safeguarding our workforce and stakeholders from potential hazards and risks that may arise from our operations. This Health and Safety Policy outlines our commitment to continually improving our health and safety performance and complying with all relevant laws and regulations.

2. Objectives:

    • Prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses by maintaining high health and safety standards.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
    • Provide ongoing training and education to all employees on health and safety procedures and their responsibilities.
    • Regularly assess risks and implement control measures to reduce or eliminate hazards.
    • Foster a culture of health and safety awareness, encouraging employees to take personal responsibility for their safety and that of their colleagues.

3. Responsibilities:

Management:

 

    • Ultimate Towbars management is responsible for implementing this Health and Safety Policy.
    • Ensure that health and safety risks are identified, assessed, and controlled.

    • Provide resources, including adequate training, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.

    • Investigate all accidents, near-misses, and incidents to prevent recurrence.

    • Regularly review and update health and safety policies and procedures in line with legislative changes or operational needs.

Supervisors:

 

    • Ensure that employees comply with health and safety protocols.

    • Conduct regular inspections of work areas and ensure that safety measures are being followed.

    • Address any unsafe conditions or practices immediately and report them to management.

Employees:

    • All employees are responsible for their health and safety, as well as the safety of others affected by their actions.
    • Follow all safety instructions, and procedures, and use PPE as required.

    • Report hazards, unsafe conditions, or near-miss incidents to their supervisor immediately.
    • Participate in health and safety training programs provided by Ultimate Towbars.

4. Health and Safety Measures:

 

    • Risk Assessment: All work activities will be subject to risk assessments to identify potential hazards and control measures will be implemented to reduce or eliminate risks.
    • Safe Working Procedures: Detailed procedures will be in place for high-risk tasks such as installation, use of machinery, and manual handling.
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Where required, Ultimate Towbars will provide appropriate PPE for staff and ensure that it is used correctly.
    • Emergency Procedures: Clear procedures will be established and communicated for dealing with emergencies such as fire, injury, or evacuation.

    • First Aid: Adequate first-aid facilities and trained first-aiders will be available on-site at all times.

5. Training and Communication:

    • All employees will receive comprehensive health and safety training upon induction and refresher courses as needed.
    • Health and safety information, including policies and risk assessments, will be communicated clearly and effectively.
    • Toolbox talks and regular meetings will be held to discuss health and safety performance and concerns.

6. Accident Reporting and Investigation:

    • All accidents, incidents, and near-misses must be reported immediately and recorded in the accident log.
    • Thorough investigations will be carried out to determine root causes and to implement preventive measures.

7. Review and Monitoring:

    • Health and safety performance will be monitored regularly through audits, inspections, and reviews of incident reports.
    • This policy will be reviewed annually, or as necessary, to ensure its continued effectiveness and compliance with legal requirements.

8. Employee Well-being:
